My career started in 1990 in the 811 one call business which opened the door to the Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) industry where I have been since 1993. At the time I had no idea I would remain in this industry for the next 30+ years and counting but here I am. As a Practice Leader for KCI, I am responsible for our Nevada SUE operation where I oversee the business management and overall operations. I've worked in several states across the country affording the opportunity to experience different geographic locations and work around many different utility operators. In the SUE industry we are engaged in many different types of projects from small private properties to full blown interstate reconstruction projects. My job has a unique twist in that we wear several hats from "locator" to "contractor" to "designer" depending on the needs of our clients. A primary function of our work is performing utility test holes (i.e. potholing) to assist our clients in their project designs.
