Donovan Szarka

My name is Donovan Szarka and I have over 22 years of experience in underground excavation. My hope is to apply my expertise and knowledge to the USA North 811 Board of Directors. I have spent most of my career with EBMUD where I have honed a deep understanding of excavation operations, utility locating, and underground infrastructure management. Working as both an excavator and utility locator, I have developed a keen eye for precision and safety in the field, ensuring the integration of critical utility systems while minimizing risk to both personnel and the public. My intent is to apply my extensive experience and hands-on knowledge to contribute invaluable insight into challenges and best practices of underground construction. Through my years of experience at EBMUD, I played a key role in numerous projects, working alongside diverse teams to maintain and enhance vital infrastructure systems. My passion for innovation, safety, and industry standards has positioned me to be a trusted leader within our underground excavation sector. I am committed to supporting USA North 811's mission and advancing its goals by advocation for the highest standards in excavation and utility locating, ensuring the safety and efficiency of underground work across the region.
